About Me

My photo
Don Miskin
Logan, Utah, United States
As a contemporary painter I like to create a spontaneous mood. I started drawing very young. My mother encouraged with art classes and “draw, draw, draw”. Formal study is with a Bachelor of Arts; and continued studies with numerous artists and workshops. But I believe sweat and lots of plein air are the best teachers. I hope that my painting reflects the authenticity of what I see, the mood created by the changing light and letting the viewer feel with a sense of visual energy. The subtle earth tones changes that occur in landscape fascinate me and I love the beauty of the figure. The current character of my work is forged painting from life. As a painter, I seek a simplification of the visual characteristics I chose to paint and hope the viewer finds a resonance of truth and honesty in my interpretation. I continue search, discover and the love of spontaneous moments.
